Reality Systems

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Reality Systems.

What is Reality Systems?

A free, realistic radio overlay for Roblox roleplay communities. It sits on top of your game and gives you a handheld-style radio with ten channels, push-to-talk and a panic button.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no cost to download, create a network or join one. Reality Plus is optional and adds extras for owners, like the dispatch panel, more networks and custom designs. See the Plus page.

Is it made by Roblox or any game?

No. Reality Systems is an independent project. It is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Roblox or the makers of any game.

How do I get started?

Download the Windows app, sign in with Discord, then either create a network from the dashboard or press ENTER CODE on the radio and type an invite code from a network admin.

What is a network?

A private group of people who share the same ten channels. An admin creates it, names the channels, and shares a 12-character invite code. Nobody outside the network can hear it.

How many channels are there?

Ten per network, matching the keypad keys 1 to 9 and 0. Admins can rename them, for example Primary, Fire Rescue, EMS or Dispatch.

Why do I have to sign in with Discord?

Your Discord username is your name on the radio, and sign-in lets network admins see who is in their network and remove people if needed. We only use your Discord identity, not your messages or servers.

Does it work from inside the game?

The Windows app is an overlay that stays on top of your game, and the push-to-talk key is designed to work while the game has focus. It is early access software, so tell us if something misbehaves on your setup.

Can I use it on Mac or phone?

Yes. Use the web radio in your browser. It does the same job as the Windows app, without installing anything.

What does the Discord bot do?

Use /radio status to see who is on each channel of your networks, and /radio help for the command list. Add it with the Discord Bot button at the top of the page. It works in servers only. The bot will show as offline, but the commands still work all the time.

What is the dispatch panel?

A dispatch and CAD screen in your browser for networks with Reality Plus. Dispatchers see every unit, set statuses, send tones, talk on any channel, create calls that pop up on units' radios, keep records and run plates against your ER:LC server. The owner makes a dispatch code in the dashboard's Dispatch tab, and dispatchers type it at /dispatch.

Can officers use it too?

Yes. Every member of a Plus network can open the officer screen at /dispatch and sign in with Discord. They see calls, attach themselves, set their status, call in traffic stops, look people up and run plates. Only dispatchers create and close calls.

Where do records and ID pictures come from?

Records are made by your community and kept for your network only. Each one is linked to a Roblox username, and the picture is that account's public Roblox avatar. If your ER:LC server key is set in the dashboard, everyone playing as a civilian gets a record automatically. ID cards are roleplay records, not real documents.

What happens when someone presses PANIC?

Everyone on the network hears the alert and sees the person's name flash red on their screen, on every channel.

Can I remove someone from my network?

Yes. Network owners and admins can remove members from the dashboard, and they are disconnected straight away.

Do you record what people say?

No. Voice is passed live to the other people on your channel and is not stored. See the Privacy Policy for what we do keep.
